Hello All, I hope that you're enjoying yourselves despite the grey weather that's blanketing the country and particularly Christchurch. As I said last time the roaster's never as popular amongst staff as it is in winter time!!
With the Captain away for a wee while there hasn't been so much to report but fear not as we are working behind the scenes on more than a few things here at C4's coffee nerve center (aka. Coffee HQ)... and still much to see in the showroom whilst you're waiting for a superb caffeine hit.
As an aside it's great to see so many KeepCups and C4 tins coming back in, so be a good citizen and don't forget these when you're in for a coffee or your beans of choice. Don't have a tin? Just ask...
What's new then? Well we have some new NZ Handles tees ready for you to wear in the comfort of your own home (until summer that is), and we've even got kids sizes - but be quick on those ones! We also have a fresh drop of the always popular Krank tees, so if you want the world to know that you have good taste (sorry - couldn't resist) we have a good size range at the moment.
There's also a new website in the works but good things take time so we'll let you know more in the coming weeks...
(Visual joke that doesn't translate to blogging alert!) Also if you want to book Scotty for Christmas soirees you'd better get in now as I think South City has dibs on him for most of December! Ho Ho Ho!

Hope everyone's week is going well... this weather's pretty amazing isn't it? Let me tell you, as difficult as it is to stand next to the roaster in summer, I find myself jumping for joy at the thought of turning it on and roasting up a fresh batch of Krank or Cuban coffee on these cold winter days.... but I digress...
Our friends at Christchurch Bike Tours got a nice write up in the Granny Herald as those Aucklander's seem to call it, and it begins with a small bit on C4 and the Roastery here at Coffee HQ which makes for extra good reading!
Have a look and next time you're trying to think of something new to do with a visitor to the Garden City I think this could tick more than a few boxes... article here.

C4 Hosts White Tie Winter Bistro Evening |

Our good friends at White Tie catering are running their Winter Bistro season again, and it was great to host an evening last night at Coffee HQ - it was a great success and nice to see the showroom transformed from coffee heaven to dining delight!
For those who don't know, here the premise:
White Tie create a bistro in a secret location and give clients the chance to enjoy the style of a truly local intimate winter bistro. This roving restaurant is open for just one day a month for the months of June, July, August and September and each venue remains a secret until 24 hours prior when you will receive a text message to let you know where to go to find your restaurant...

And to all have a great long weekend... we're closing the doors and off to (hopefully) enjoy some days without rain.

Since it's the Queen's Birthday we're going to break out Greatest Hits 1 and 2 and "break free" for a long weekend, meaning that we will not be open on Saturday June 5 or Monday June 7. Get in on Friday and stock up on supplies for the long weekend (and if the weather stays like this it could be *really* long) otherwise you'll be "under pressure" until we re-open on Tuesday...

Howdy all, hope May's treating you well - how quick is this year going? It seems a blur of making fine coffee for all you good people, roasting fine coffee for all you good people, and repeat!
But we thought we'd better take a second out of the day to up date you on some of the going ons at C4...
Lisa is Back! Yes, Lisa's had a lovely wee girl and has returned to the C4 family for one day and week - it's great to see her back...
Speaking of back, we have Keep Cups back in stock for all you eco-coffee-warriors! C4 branded and in an array of colours, these cups not only stop the waste of traditional takeaway cups but are made to travel, easy to clean, and built to last! We sold out of our first shipment in a hurry so come claim yours today...
Also a belated, big welcome to Monique, our latest member of the crew. She'll be holding the front of house so next time you stop by be sure to say hello.
And finally something's happening in that sneaky right hand corner of the showroom, that's all I can say right now but as they say "stay tuned"...
Righto! It's Friday, time to think about cleaning up and gearing up for the weekend. I'll of course be back here tomorrow until 3pm for all of your Saturday folk who need beans and flat whites but everyone else have a good one and see you Monday!
