#c4coffeestories - Follow our journey to Ethiopia

c4 coffee ethiopia single origin trip c4coffeestories roaster christchurch

It's already Tuesday, which means I must need another coffee... As usual,  we're here, roasting, and ready to serve you some fantastic coffees, including a couple of single origin treats. The highlight? Panama Finca Lerida, a truly special and limited single origin that defies easy explanation -  tasting is believing!

So why the photo? No doubt you know that Ethiopia produces some amazing coffees from the Yirgacheffe, Sidamo and Harar regions. But the bags the coffee comes in are pretty boring to be honest and do you know why?

It's because the coffee is Government controlled by the "Coffee and Tea Authority", and is heavily regulated - even down to the fact that "they" would like you to have green text on your coffee bag.

And the context? Well, On Wednesday our fearless leaders Paula and Guy depart on their latest coffee journey. With the support of Trade Aid, they are off to Nairobi for the AFCA African Fine Coffee Conference and Expo, and then Ethiopia to spend time with some of the amazing coffee co-ops that we source and serve right here at C4 Coffee.

We're really excited to get up and close with the people that produce the beans we love. Guy and Paula will be sharing their journey as much as possible, so make sure you follow us on Instagram @c4coffee for all the updates - we'll be using the hashtag #c4coffeestories.

On their return we are also looking to showcase and sample some of these fantastic origins and share the highlights of the trip so keep watch for updates...

Onwards and upwards, see you soon at the house that coffee built (or if you are unlucky enough to live outside Christchurch online here). xT
